The first reason you should learn how to live off of the grid is because you can eliminate your dependence on fossil fuels.  They can’t be renewed, and they are limited.  They’re also harmful to the environment.  There is a great demand for fossil fuels, and the supply is decreasing at rapid rates.  This energy source is also causing a great deal of harm to the environment.  Needless to say, nothing good will come out of the continued use of limited, nonrenewable, expensive energy supplies.

By choosing alternative methods of receiving energy in your home, you’ll be decreasing your dependence on the grid.  This means that you won’t have to depend on the government or electric companies anymore.  You can obtain energy yourself through wind turbine, solar panels, etc. You will no longer have to worry about power outages or blackouts.  US power grids are also vulnerable when it comes to terrorist attacks.  Protect your family from these potential threats by learning how to live off the grid.
